These posts were always really popular on the old blog, so I couldn't leave them behind.
Masking is probably the easiest way (aside from filters) of adding a personal touch to your Holga camera, and making your images stand out from the rest of the crowd.
I personally have only tried masking once, and the lab had the great idea of cropping it all out. (I tried to add a 'torn edges effect.')

You will need the following:
- Ruler
- Card
- Scissors (possibly an exacto/craft knife)
- Creativity.
For now I will just explain how to use card in the back of your Holga camera to create a mask. Other methods include printing onto transparent film and other materials. Card is the easiest though!
1. Measure the area
Measure out the back of the Holga. You need to cover as much of the square in the middle as you can. Measure the width and the length.

2. Draw it out
Draw out the square you measured on a piece of card. Remember! You need to have two flaps at the side for stability.
3. Go Mad and create a design
Be imaginative and come up with something origional - let your mind go wild! I've decided to go for something completely wacky. Remember - get really creative with this, its your personal touch to your Holga photography.
4. Cut it Out

4. Tape and Secure
Tape the flaps that you created down, and you are ready to roll.(sorry but i forgot to take a picture of this stage...the video shows where to tape it.)
Here is one example of what masking can do:
And if that's not enough I've even included a video as well!
