Since I purchased the Joby Gorillapod
And what makes it so good? Well there are a range of different things that make the Gorillapod such a great investment. First off is exceptionally reasonable in its price. Honestly, I would have paid much more for this, and was pleasantly surprised to find it at this price.
Next, its fantastically portable. I scrunched mine up small and it slipped into my pocket no problem. So much less hassle than one of those big metal Tripods!
I also just love the way this tripod works. Its a lot more flexible that I imagined, and it can fit around some pretty thin stuff. I even managed to hold a Holga sturdy on a music stand with it! Impressive right?
Nothing comes with out criticism though, and I would say that the Joby does have a few problems. One - with it only being a short little thing, its impossible to get it anywhere near head level without the use of a tree or building or wall. So if you are out in the open expect to spend some time around the floor. Saying that there are rarely times when there is nothing at all to attach it to.
Two - I also think they could have worked a little harder on stability, but for the Holga it seems to work wonders, so at least all the readers here will be happy with one! However, for heavier cameras you will need to look at their more robust options. They have a few!
In conclusion, its a fantastic little accessory for your Holga cameras, and is a definite must have for anyone interested in long exposures...well longer than 1/125th second I should say!
Thanks for reading.
